Minimum Qualifications: - A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or related field
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional civil engineering experience, of which two years is in performing traffic safety studies or implementation of traffic safety countermeasures
- Registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas within six months of employment
- Valid Texas Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications: - Exceptional customer service, time management, communication, and writing skills.
- Experience with the requirements of federally funded projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with Bluebeam, understanding of the PMBOK, an industry-recognized project management standard, MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and geographic information systems (GIS)
The Sr. Professional Engineer - Mobility Infrastructure job responsibilities include: - Working independently to perform project management and professional civil engineering work to deliver multiple simultaneous mobility infrastructure improvement projects while coordinating with a variety of stakeholders to deliver projects within budget and on schedule within very tight time constraints.
- Attending virtual and in-person meetings and communicating proactively about projects with City leadership, stakeholders in other City departments, residents of the City of Fort Worth and representatives of state and federal agencies.
- Providing direct support to the Engineering Manager and assisting in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals and objectives and making recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
- Managing professional services contracts with engineering consultants to deliver capital projects including executing design contracts, reviewing engineering design plans, specifications and cost estimates and processing contract amendments.
- Managing construction contracts including evaluating construction bids, executing construction contracts, responding to RFIs, performing field visits and processing change orders.
- Reviewing and approving payment requests and performing other tasks as needed while utilizing City of Fort Worth software/systems and processes.
- Supervising and assisting in the development and professional growth of graduate engineers and professional engineers.
