Description

POSITION

Under the supervision of the Racquet Supervisor, plans, organizes, supervises, and implements a full range of public tennis and pickleball programs and services. Acts as lead for program operations, participant relations, facility coordination, and staff support.

QUALIFICATIONS

High school graduate/GED AND one (1) year of experience working in sports, youth programs, or recreation setting. First Aid and CPR certification.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS



WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work is performed in indoor and outdoor environments. Must have the physical strength and agility to lift, carry, and pull tables, chairs, equipment, etc., up to 50 pounds regularly; bend and twist in all directions, and squeeze with arms and hands. In addition, work may require prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, and stooping. Flexible work hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, depending on program schedules.

THE SELECTION PROCESS

Applicants whose experience best meets the city's needs will be invited to participate in the examination for this position. Candidates must have access to a computer with internet, video, and audio capabilities to participate in our examination process. The examination may consist of one or more of the following: (1) Training & Experience Evaluation, (2) Writing Exercise, and (3) Qualifications Appraisal Interview with a panel of subject matter experts. Candidates must receive a score of 70 or higher to have their names placed on the active eligibility list for one year. The top three ranks on the Eligibility List will have their application materials forwarded to the hiring authority for a selection interview.
