ABOUT THE POSITION

Under immediate supervision, the Assistant Planner evaluates projects to ensure compliance with local policies and regulations as well as California planning laws and provides information to the public. This position provides a high level of service to a variety of clients and stakeholders, including professionals in architecture, engineering, and construction, as well as individual property owners. The Current Planning Division is a collaborative, team-oriented environment that coordinates with other County divisions and departments, as well as other agencies and districts.
Hybrid schedule:
CDA has embraced a hybrid work schedule that considers that some duties of this position may be performed remotely. However, the successful candidate must be able to report to County facilities for meetings, work assignments, and/or disaster service work upon short notice, as needed and deemed appropriate. During the initial probationary period, the successful candidate will be required to work primarily onsite before establishing a hybrid work schedule.

ABOUT YOU

Our Highly Qualified Candidate has:

Knowledge of: Planning laws and principles relevant to the state of California, Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.)

Skill in: Excellent writing and communication skills and public speaking experience

Ability to: Manage multiple deadlines, pay close attention to details and procedures, and provide exceptional customer service

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from college with a major in planning, geography, architecture, landscape architecture or closely related field and possession of the knowledge and ability requirements.
