Under immediate (Technician I) to general (Technician II) supervision, the Controls Technician for Eastern Municipal Water District performs a wide variety of skilled duties in the design, development, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and electronic control systems, plant control systems, RF and fiber optic-based telecommunication systems used in water and wastewater systems and facilities; tests and calibrates a diverse range of electronic control system equipment, devices, and components; and performs related duties, as assigned.

SALARY:

Controls Technician I:

Range 214: $41.25 - $51.36 Hourly; $7,150.00 - $8,902.40 Monthly

Controls Technician II:

Range 217: $47.75 - $59.46 Hourly; $8,276.67 - $10,306.40 Monthly

*Personnel in this classification are subject to on-call, which may include rotating-duty schedule, weekends and 24-hour emergency call out with little or no notice.

The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

1. Communication skills with other department heads and staff within Electrical Services.
2. A clear understanding of the Districts safety policies and procedures.
3. Ability to lead a team in complex electrical projects.
4. Ability to prepare clear and concise documentation.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS



SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

Receives immediate (Controls Technician I) to general (Controls Technician II) supervision from assigned supervisory and management personnel. Exercises no direct supervision over staff.
