Distinguishing Features of the Class

Des Moines Parks and Recreation Development and Planning Division is seeking 4th year Landscape Architecture students for a spring semester internship. The internship will be part time during the semester with the option to transition into a part time summer employment or full time for half the summer. 400 total hours are available over the spring and summer at $17.00 per hour. Interns will be expected to work in the office at 1551 E Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway Des Moines Iowa.

The Development and Planning Division is a full-service Landscape Architecture office. We engage in every aspect of the creative process including ideation, concept creation, public input, analysis, schematic drawings, construction documentation, project management, and long-term maintenance of all of our projects. Projects range from aquatics, landscape and land sculpting, storm water management, pedestrian circulation, playgrounds, shelters, and more.
