Description
What you’ll do: This is a senior-level professional position responsible for the general management of the Crime Victims’ Compensation program and for the supervision of those responsible carrying out duties of this program. This position is responsible for setting and controlling a budget; supervising policy development for an agency or programs; and establishing means for revising or changing State and/or National laws.
The Crime Victims' Compensation section administers an application program designed to financially assist people who have sustained physical, emotional, mental harm or trauma resulting from certain violent crimes. The section also administers reimbursement programs to cover the fees associated with Sexual Assault Forensic Examinations (SAFE) and Child Physical Abuse Forensic Examinations (CPAFE).
Job Summary: - Provide overall planning, coordination and oversite of all Crime Victims Compensation Program activities
- Monitor and track state and federal funds
- Directly supervises team member
- Serve as the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant administrator and manage all federal grant activities
- Serve as the contact for the National Association of Crime Victim Compensation Boards (NACVCB)
- Schedule and participate in CVC Administrative Review Hearings
- Approve spending for the program
- Ensure policies and procedures are up to date
- Ensure compliance with program statutes, rules and policies
- Communicate both orally and in writing with stakeholders
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive personal information
- Maintain good working relationship with stakeholders
- Provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding program guidelines
- Set accountability standards for the program
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, criminal justice administration, planning, social sciences, or a closely related field. 5-7 years of relevant experience, and 2-4 years of supervisory experience. Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Knowledge of federal and state laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures applicable to the Crime Victims’ Compensation program.
- Knowledge of the Crime Victims’ Compensation Claim System (CVCS) application
- Skilled in the analysis and interpretation of information and data, and presentation of recommendations
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite software
- Knowledge of Tableau software
- Knowledge of fiscal management practices
- Knowledge of administrative rules and regulations governing applicable state programs
- Skilled in budget and policy development
- Ability to manage change and staff resources
- Knowledge of principles and practices in the area of quality control/quality assurance program activities.
- Ability to mentor, train, and supervise staff
- Knowledge of principles and practices of effective administration
- Ability to evaluate policies and operations and formulate recommendations

The salary indicated represents a base pay rate. If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck. A pay differential does not raise your base pay.

Salary:
$75,000-$90,000 per Year
