The Human Resources (HR) Advisor Senior will provide leave benefits program advice, guidance, and administration to a workforce of 1890+. This position will conduct eligibility reviews, support benefits enrollment processes, and serve as the administrator and subject matter expert for all leave programs including FMLA, ADA, Paid Parental Leave, Short Term Disability, Workers Compensation, Leave Bank, Shared Leave, Military Leave, Bereavement Leave, Child Bereavement Leave, Leave of Absences, etc. In addition, the position will conduct audits of benefits usage, identify areas of improvement, streamline related processes, and ensure efficient and accurate tracking and case management for Austin Energy employees. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a high-paced environment. Exercise sound critical thinking and judgment to handle complex matters. Must possess excellent listening, problem solving, oral and written communication skills. In addition, the ideal candidate must possess strong consulting and influencing skills with the ability to build trust and maximize relationships with employees at all levels.

Human Resources Advisor Senior

Purpose:

Under limited direction, provides management and employee groups advanced journey-level professional human resources (HR) support on a broad range of HR issues and decisions, primarily in matters that require independent discretion. Responsible for the implementation of services and programs in one or more areas of HR.

This position is considered FLSA Exempt. Exempt employees are salaried and, except as provided, are not eligible for overtime compensation.

Travel: If you are selected for this position, and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations. (PQ)
