The City of Austin is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Mail Delivery Services Specialist. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and specialized mail delivery tasks that support the daily operations of City departments.

Key responsibilities include driving a designated route to pick up and distribute inter-office and U.S. mail, ensuring all safety guidelines are followed. You will also be responsible for sending timely email notifications regarding mail and package arrivals, and managing signature requirements for checks and other sensitive documents.

Success in this role requires strong oral and written communication skills, professionalism in customer interactions, and the ability to stay organized and focused in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.

Job Description:

MAIL SERVICES CLERK

Purpose:

Under general supervision, this position performs a variety of special and routine mail delivery services.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.


Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus one (1) year of experience in mail services or messenger delivery.

Licenses and Certifications Required:

Texas Class C Driver License.

Pay Range: Entry: $22.05 - Mid: $24.26

Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30a.m - 4:00 p.m.)
