Job Location: This position will be located at 1300 Oak Street, Kansas City, Missouri.

The Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District has an opening for a full-time Judicial Administrative Assistant. The successful candidate will perform a variety of clerical, administrative, and executive tasks for two court of appeals judges. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- managing the day-to-day operations and record keeping in judges' chambers
- answering the telephone
- drafting, formatting, and proofreading correspondence
- scheduling and calendaring meetings
- organizing dockets and briefs for oral arguments
- formatting, proofreading, circulating, and tracking circulations of opinions
- coordinating handdown of opinions
- reviewing publications to ensure the accuracy of reported opinions, making modifications/corrections of opinions on cases previously handed down
- maintaining and creating records to track workflow
- preparing and submitting continuing legal education and other annual reporting records
- drafting, formatting, proofreading, and submitting orders to the Clerk's Office as necessary
- collaborating with other Judicial Administrative Assistants
Minimum Qualifications:The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills and will be detail oriented, self-directed, and proactive in developing and maintaining workflow efficiencies.
Preferred Qualifications:The candidate should be proficient in:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Adobe Acrobat
- operation of office equipment (copies, scanners, etc.)
Prior Experience in the legal field is preferred but not required. The starting salary is $50,251.44. Position includes excellent state benefits and free parking.
The start date for this position will be no earlier than January 2, 2026. The position will remain open until filled. EOE
