DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Serve on a team of Juvenile Case Managers for a truancy prevention and intervention program designed to provide case management and support services to students and families who are considered truant. Using individual judgment and discretion, provides identification/assessment, truancy intervention, and community-based referrals to social services for juveniles and their families. Job duties include, but are not limited to the following: WORKING CONDITIONS
Applicant must be available on scheduled evenings to attend Municipal Court dockets, workshops, and/or conduct home visits as well as some weekends for community service projects. General office setting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree with multiple course work in one of the following areas: Criminal Justice, Sociology, Psychology, or Social Work.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Two years of professional experience in juvenile court programs or related social services work are required.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
Valid Texas Driver's License and compliance with the City of Houston policy on driving (AP 2-2)

PREFERENCES

Preference shall be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and SPANISH and have demonstrated case management and outreach experience. Strong organizational, computer, writing and communication skills are also preferred

GRANT FUND POSITION
Grants & Special Funded positions are dependent upon continued available funds. If funding is no longer available, employees may be laid off or transferred.
