Under the direction of the City of Austin’s Human Rights Officer, this position will support the We All Belong Campaign, engage in community engagement, and will manage the Anti Hate dashboard. This position will work to inform the public on ways to report hate incidents and will manage events throughout the City of Austin that align with anti-hate.

Under general supervision, conducts intake, screening, investigation, conciliation, settlement, and recommends resolution of quality improvement of departmental programs.

Austin Equity and Inclusion is hiring a part time temporary Program Specialist within the Human Rights Division. This position will be responsible for equity work with the We All Belong Campaign and the Anti Hate dashboard.


Austin Equity and Inclusion enforce local fair employment and fair housing ordinances under contract with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Department leads the equity assessment process and provides consultation to identify and address current and emerging equity and inclusion issues, guiding departments in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, practices, and programs addressing their impacts on equity.

The Department works strategically to promote visibility, transparency, accountability, and responsibility, with the primary goal of ensuring fair treatment for all individuals in the areas of Employment, Housing, Fair Chance, Title VI, Title II, Veteran Services and Public Accommodations.

Hours : Monday - Friday, 20 hours a week - Part Time position
