ABOUT USThe County of Marin is a vibrant organization comprised of 23 agencies and departments with a workforce of over 2,500 employees and an operating budget of $866 million (FY 2025-26). The County’s full array of public safety, community development, public works, health and human services, community services and administrative services is governed by the Board of Supervisors, which is made up of an elected representative from each of the five voting districts in this general law county.
The Office of the County Executive is responsible for implementing the policy direction of the Marin County Board of Supervisors and supporting the effective delivery of public services across 23 departments. The office provides leadership on countywide initiatives, coordinates interdepartmental and cross-jurisdictional programs.
Our work includes advancing the Board’s strategic priorities, overseeing the County’s $865 million budget, and leading cross-cutting efforts in housing, climate, equity, emergency preparedness, homelessness, and more.
ABOUT THE POSITIONServing the County Executive with countywide management assistance, this Deputy County Executive position will have a broad range of responsibilities focused on overseeing four divisions: Legislation and Intergovernmental Affairs; Community and Economic Vitality; Municipal Services; and establishing and managing a centralized Climate & Sustainability Team within the office and leading the County's efforts and communications on adaptation and mitigation strategies.
