ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Clinical and Community Services Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Youth & Adult Intervention Supervisor. This position will be assigned to various Clinical Divisions to include the Mental Health Treatment Team within the Clark County Juvenile Detention facility, Clinical Services for Clark County Family Services, Advanced Foster Care program and throughout Clinical & Community Services. The Youth & Adult Intervention Supervisor plans, directs, assigns, and reviews the work of and provides clinical oversight and supervision to Youth & Adult Intervention Specialists. The ideal candidate will also perform professional therapeutic work in the implementation of comprehensive program assessment, intervention, counseling, referral, and prevention.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

The selected candidates will be hired for a special project or duties of a limited duration and be required to sign a term of employment letter specifying condition and exact dates of employment. Some positions may be Grant Funded. Grant Funded positions are subject to continuation based on availability of grant funds and the employee will be terminated without right of appeal when such funds are no longer available.

A valid license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or other required certification in the State of Nevada is required at time of application. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Master's Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field AND three (3) years of full-time professional counseling experience, preferably dealing with children and families, two (2) years of which were as a professionally licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC), or Clinical Psychologist (LCP). Professional licensing as a Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor Supervisor (LCADC-S), LCSW Supervisor or AAMFT Approved Supervisor preferred.

Working Conditions: Work extended shifts or be called back on a 24-hour basis in crisis situations. Work in a locked detention facility. Provide in-home therapy in a variety of living situations.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment. Must possess a valid appropriate license to practice as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor or other required certification in the State of Nevada.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
