Performs administrative and professional work overseeing the development and operation of over 150 municipal parks, neighborhood centers, senior centers, athletic and aquatic facilities, and a diverse array of programs taking place at these sites. Responsibilities include overseeing the hiring, supervising, and development of a team of 1,000+ staff members responsible for the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of all of the City’s neighborhood and senior centers, public parks, tree canopy, and recreation facilities, and the operation of a wide range of programs serving children, seniors and community residents at neighborhood centers, parks and recreation facilities located throughout the City. Work is performed under the direction of the Families, Parks and Recreation (FPR) Deputy Director.
Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences/Human Services, Public Policy, Natural Resources Management, Parks/Recreation/Leisure Facilities Management, or a related field and four (4) years of supervisory experience managing large teams (100+ staff), including experience in budgeting, planning, construction and operation of municipal parks, neighborhood centers, recreation facilities or human service programs; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Driver’s License required. FRPA Professional Park and Recreation Administrator Certification preferred.

If this posting indicates a degree is required, the following experience will apply in lieu of any degree as follows:
- Two (2) years of direct experience for an associate degree;
- Four (4) years of direct experience for a bachelor's degree;
- Six (6) years of direct experience for a master's degree; or
- Nine (9) years of direct experience for a doctoral degree.

USD 51.53 - 67.67 per hour
