A Sr. Human Resources Analyst - Compensation position is available with The City of Fort Worth Human Resources Department in the Classification, Compensation, and Civil Service Division. The Sr. Human Resources Analyst - Compensation is tasked with supporting the organization's compensation programs, processes to ensure that City of Fort Worth employees are being compensated at an optimal level, aligned with our strategy, and are externally competitive. The Sr. Human Resources Analyst will also be called upon to support certain project activities such as classification action requests, merit pay programs, salary surveys, or supporting FLSA/DOL reporting requirements. This position will also support the trainee and promotional examination processes for sworn civil service employees. The analyst will work on multiple, simultaneous projects and must have a keen attention to detail.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, business administration or a related field
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible professional human resources experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Human Resources Experience in the public or municipal sector
- Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience in completing compensation analysis, surveys, and reviews
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques
- In-depth knowledge of compensation practices, market trends, and regulatory requirements
- Familiar with compliance of relevant laws and regulations governing compensation practices, such as the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Equal Pay Act
The Sr. Human Resource Analyst - Compensation job responsibilities include: - Participates in salary surveys to collect and analyze competitive salary information to determine company's competitive position. Summarizes data and provide management with statistical analysis and recommendations in both written and verbal formats. Generates reports as requested using data from HRIS system downloads.
- Assists in the generation and analysis of pay compression analyses, market adjustment reports, out-of-range reports, exemption change reports, or other compensation-related analyses.
- Develops, creates, and updates job descriptions based on results from research and analysis and evaluates jobs for content and prepares job descriptions reflecting job responsibilities, activities, duties and requirements.
- Conducts job analyses of wages, salaries, and incentives in order to evaluate internal equity, external competitiveness, and legal compliance of the company's pay practices.
- Assists with the Civil Service Examination process for Trainee and Promotional positions.

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
