Latchkey Group Leader- AHKP After School
Description
Overview The Latchkey Group Leader assists with the development of the Afterschool After Hour Kid Power Program. This position will supervise and provide leadership for children participating in the afterschool program and ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.
Responsibilities • Address any concerns expressed by the participants
• Continuously redirect children to limit any possible disciplinary issues
• Monitor participants throughout the day while following the Minimal Standards policies
• Assist Senior Group Leader with any tasks needed in preparing play areas for participants
• Setting up age-appropriate stations for participants
• Sign-in all participants in their group
• Ensure all participants wash their hands prior to snack time
• Organize indoor arts & crafts, games, and activities for all participants
• Ensure a first aid kit and watercooler is taken outside
• Make sure parents show ID when signing out participants
• Ensure that there is constant communication with the Senior Group Leader, custodial, kitchen, and administrative staff at the school when issues arise
• Communicate daily with parents/guardians while providing excellent customer service
• Performs other related duties and fulfills responsibilities as required
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Non-Exempt - TEMP Part-Time (14-hour work week)
• Must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma / GED
• No prior experience required
Preferred Qualifications • Class C Driver's License
Licenses and Certifications Required • Must be at least the age of eighteen (18) years or older
• CPR/First Aid Certification

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
