Registered Nurse Senior

Purpose:

Under general supervision, provide advanced preventive, therapeutic, and restorative nursing care and services

Position Overview:

The Registered Nurse Senior for the TB Unit Austin Public Health Division.

Interview patients, obtain medical history, and sign/symptoms of TB.
Assess physical condition of patients using observation, inspection and auscultation.
Develop a health care plan in coordination with the patient, family and physician. Implement care plan and carry out needed interviews and follow up care.
Provide nursing care to TB patients including phlebotomy and collection of lab specimens following infection control guidelines and protocols.
Teach and counsel patients regarding disease processes, treatment and preventative measures for control of tuberculosis.
May conduct contact investigations and home visits.

Salary:

Min $71,677 - Mid $90,293 (Commensurate with experience)

RBJ Center- RBJ Health Center, 15 Waller Street, Austin, Texas 78702

Hours:

Monday - Friday- 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
