The Position

The City of Riverside, Public Utilities Department (RPU) is accepting applications for the position of UTILITIES LANDSCAPE & MAINTENANCE CONTRACT ADMINISTRATOR to fill one (1) vacancy in the Water Utility - Engineering Division. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

This position will administer all landscape, weed abatement, and maintenance contracts, as well as plan, review, coordinate, and monitor the work of contractors throughout widely scattered locations engaged in the maintenance, repair and construction of public utility facilities.

Under general supervision, the Utilities Landscape & Maintenance Contract Administrator is to oversee the operation of the contract landscape and maintenance section of the Public Utilities Department, including the provision of various contractors, and to do related work as required.

Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:


Qualifications

Education: High school graduation or satisfactory equivalent. An Associate's Degree with course work in ornamental horticulture, arboriculture, landscape maintenance, contract administration, business administration, public administration, construction management, project management, facilities management, or engineering is highly desirable.

Experience: Four years of increasingly responsible experience in the construction and/or maintenance of public facilities including streetscape, hardscape, landscape, buildings, building systems and/or grounds.

Necessary Special Requirements:
Possession of an appropriate, valid class "C" California Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
