An Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department, Plant Operations Division. This position will supervise, participate in and coordinate the work of employees responsible for maintaining and installing high/low voltage electrical equipment, and instrumentation control systems, pertinent to the Water and Wastewater plant activities, within the Water Department. He/she will coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public and provide complex staff assistance to assigned management staff.
Minimum Qualifications: - Associate's degree from an accredited college in industrial instrumentation, electrical training or a related field
- Six years of responsible industrial, electrical, electronic, or instrumentation experience, including one year of lead supervisory experience
- Valid Driver's license
- Valid Master Electrician license or Journeyman Electrician license
- Must be able to pass Physical and Drug Screen
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience working in a water or wastewater treatment plant
The Instrumentation and Electrical Supervisor job responsibilities include: - Supervise, oversee and participate day to day, which includes prioritizing and assigning work orders, conducting performance evaluation, termination and disciplinary decisions
- Implement new technologies to improve management and controls equipment; verifies, troubleshoots and modifies distributed control system or programmable logic controller functionality; and oversees in house and outsourced testing, maintenance and repair of instrumentation and controls. Cleaning chemical leaks and collect debris
- Participates in the requisition of materials and supplies; and compiles specifications for equipment and contracts

Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions
Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects not include the italicized paragraph listed under each section of the job description
