The Missouri Ethics Commission (MEC) is seeking a Program Specialist to assist in coordinating and providing high quality customer service in the areas of personal financial interest, conflict of interest and sunshine law requests to the Commission. The individual will interact with the public, candidates and public officials at the state and local level. The position is located in Jefferson City, Missouri.
Salary range $55,000-$60,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Duties include assisting with constituent services such as monitoring, distributing, and responding to Helpdesk emails and phone calls. Assisting in developing and presenting strategies to anticipate, identify and mitigate filer compliance challenges and to continue growth in customer service. Managing compliance schedules and deadlines in the areas of personal financial disclosure. The individual will gain familiarity with electronic reporting systems to assist those filing personal financial disclosure reports. The individual will assist with the performance of trainings and presentations, and the review of educational materials in the areas of personal financial disclosure, campaign finance, lobbying and conflict of interest.
Professional experience in state or local government, which includes knowledge of state laws and legislation; professional experience with constituent services and training; and graduation from a four-year college or university with a degree in communications, education, business administration, political science or closely related areas. (Additional experience as specified may be substituted on a year-for- year basis for the stated college education.)

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking;
• Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with other staff, elected and appointed officials at the state and local government levels, and the general public;
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team; and
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
One on one training will be provided for this position as well as tutorials and videos.
