The Austin Facilities Management’s (AFM) mission is to provide reliable, efficient and sustainable City facilities. We provide property management, custodial, maintenance, project management and other asset management services to optimize the comfort and operational efficiency for our fellow City Departments.

The Intern position will work to support AFM’s mission by assisting the Office of the City Architect as a Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Engineering Technician. The intern will operate computerized drafting software. This role offers hands-on experience contributing to the planning, design, and management of City facilities while supporting high-quality, standardized project delivery.

Job Description:

Internship - Undergraduate Level:

1. Observes and assists professionals in the assigned department to learn about areas of career interest.

2. Assists, as necessary, in the coordination, administration, or monitoring of specific programs.

3. Assists, as necessary, with researching, collecting and organizing data, performing analyses, and preparing reports to supplement knowledge gained through academic courses.

4. Participates, as necessary, in finding solutions to existing problems and discusses recommendations with administrative personnel to acquire skills in problem solving.

5. Assists with special projects.

$23.13 per hour
