GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under the direction of the Endpoint Management Support Manager, the Multimedia Technician position performs highly-complex (senior-level) multimedia maintenance and operation work. Responsible for planning, managing, maintaining, and supporting the audio-visual (AV) hardware and software systems across the agency. This role will ensure seamless operation of AV systems for day-to-day use and plays a key role in planning and executing large-scale commission meetings held multiple times per year at both headquarters and remote sites across Texas. This role will work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors to deliver high-quality AV support and design. Assists staff with planning events, streaming of live content and recordings when required. Works with vendors to ensure that all content meets retention and publication requirements for public meetings, when appropriate. In addition, the position will provide general support for agency devices as a member of the Endpoint Management team. Works under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Performs additional duties as assigned. Complies with all Agency, Division and Branch rules, regulations and procedures.


Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

High School diploma or GED.

Experience:

A minimum of three (3) years in an AV support or technician role.

Hands-on experience with AV systems including microphones, projectors, cameras, control systems (e.g., Crestron, Extron), conferencing platforms, and streaming tools.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Licensure:

Must possess or be able to obtain, within 30 days of employment, a valid State driver's license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with an associate degree or higher in a related field.

Experience:

AV certifications (e.g., CTS, Crestron, Extron, Dante).

Experience supporting hybrid or government/public commission meetings.

Familiarity with networking basics and AV-over-IP solutions.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of audio-visual equipment and software used in the live streaming of meetings.

Knowledge of the audio-visual equipment used in teleconferencing and video conferencing applications.

Skill in using, testing, and maintaining audio-visual equipment.

Skill in the use and support of both Microsoft (Windows) and Apple (macOS, iOS) devices.

Skill in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products.

Skill in writing specifications for audio-visual hardware and software.

Skill in the procurement of audio-visual equipment.

Skill in editing and preparing informational materials.

Ability to troubleshoot audio visual equipment and connectivity issues under pressure.

Ability to design, configure and support audio-visual equipment in meetings rooms both at Austin and at remote locations throughout the state.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Ability to lift and transport AV equipment (up to 50 lbs.) and travel to remote locations as needed.

Ability to lead AV setup and operation for large public and commission meetings, several times per year.

Ability to liaise with Executive Leadership, IT, Communications, Business Partners and Facilities teams to ensure successful execution of high-profile events.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Required to work 8 hours per day Monday through Friday.

Required to work on holidays, weekends, and hours other than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., as necessary.

Required to work overtime, as necessary.

Required to pass a national fingerprint-based background check to maintain employment.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States and maintain that authorization throughout employment.

Required to travel 15% with possible overnight stays.

Required to operate a State vehicle.

Must conform to TPWD dress and grooming standards, work rules, and safety procedures.
