Description
San Mateo County Parks Department is seeking individuals to assist Park Rangers with seasonal facility maintenance, including cleaning restrooms and collecting garbage; resource management; visitor services; gatehouse duties; and trail maintenance. The ideal candidate will have the ability to learn new skills, the ability to follow directions, and a strong commitment to provide exemplary customer service to park visitors.

This position requires driving to different park locations and handling power-driven tools and machines. Candidates selected for this position must have a valid California driver license or equivalent and must be at least 18 years of age at the date of hire due to Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) restrictions.

The salary range is $21.88 - $27.39 Hourly . Extra-help positions offer temporary employment for up to 1040 hours which is equivalent to about six months full-time, however, employment might end sooner depending on the needs of the hiring department. Extra-help positions are paid on an hourly rate basis and provide some benefits. Extra-help workers are not guaranteed permanent status at the end of the extra-help assignment.
