ROW Permit Coordinator
Description
Overview The position is responsible for various technical and specialized duties to ensure compliance with applicable Federal, State, and City standards, codes and/or ordinances within the Public Works-Traffic Engineering Department. The ROW Permit Coordinator position deals with internal and external customers, reviews and interprets applications, drawings, and other submittals, and performs field visits.
Responsibilities • Performs a variety of technical work required in the acceptance, review, processing and issuance of various traffic-related permits and licenses
• Ensures City compliance with City, State, and Federal standards, codes, and guidelines
• Requires experience with traffic control plans, understanding of construction practices within City ROW, and the permitting process
• Communicates skills and working relationships with City officials, developers, residents, and other City Departments
• Performs site visits to review issues with non-compliance
• Prepares permits, licenses, and other documents for issuance
• Assists in scheduling and keeping records of reviews, inspections, permits, licenses, billing, fees
• Ensures proper record management within city database
• Addresses customer complaints and questions
• Provides guidance and information to contractors, property owners, development professionals, and public regarding interpreting city policies, processes, procedures, fees, and other applicable codes, regulations, and requirements
• Coordinates scheduling public visits
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Exempt-Full-Time-Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
• Must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS)
• Three (3) years of experience
Licenses and Certifications Required• A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hiring
• Proof of Automobile Liability Insurance

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
