ABOUT THE POSITION

Clark County is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Business Systems Analyst I/II position for Justice Court - Las Vegas and Information Technology (Elections).

Justice Court - Las Vegas: Business Systems Analyst I/II position will provide routine project and analytical support for automated business systems utilized within the Court.

Information Technology: Business Systems Analyst I/II position will work directly in the Elections department. The day-to-day work directions will be provided by Elections but will report to the Information Technology (IT) Manager. This position works in a "matrixed" environment, and candidates must be astute technically (i.e., desktops, communications, networking, troubleshooting). The ideal candidate provides direction, assistance and training for technicians or other related resources. This position is responsible for gathering requirements, developing support plans (hotline, recovery, coverage), managing site equipment installations, and troubleshooting customer technical issues.

Business Systems Analyst I: $32.77 - $48.43 Hourly Business Systems Analyst II: $35.38 - $52.32 Hourly

The Business Systems Analyst I is a training underfill position, upon successful completion of the training program the successful candidate will be non-competitively promoted to Business Systems Analyst II.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months at either level or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

Business Systems Analyst I - Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or Public Administration, or a related field. Demonstrated education and training resulting in an industry-recognized certificate may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years. Some business systems analysis experience is desirable. Professional level experience that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis up to two (2) years.


Business Systems Analyst II - In addition to the above: Two (2) years of professional level experience in business systems analysis in a large multi-processing environment.

Licensing and Certification:
Specified positions may require possession of a valid Nevada Class C driver's license. Certifications must be current at time of application and maintained throughout employment.

Working Conditions: Work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.
