Job Description:

Purpose:

Responsible for leading the Department Executive Management team through the strategic planning process innovation, and performance measurement processes. Responsible for creating and revising process innovation, strategic planning, competitive analysis, corporate intelligence, and performance measurement processes. Analyzes, presents alternatives, makes recommendations and provides assistance for resolving business and technical issues confronting management in the area of planning performance, and reorganization.

This supervisory position will be responsible for the end-to-end business lifecycle of AEM technology solutions and projects. This role works closely with Austin IT to integrate technology solutions/improvements in emergency management projects and initiatives. In addition, this position will oversee the plan update for the regional Community Wildfire Protection Plan, citywide Veoci integration and the After Action Report database.

This position will:


Austin Emergency Management (AEM) plans and prepares for emergencies, educates the public about preparedness, develops volunteers, manages grant funding to improve homeland security and public safety capabilities, coordinates emergency response and recovery, supports planned events, and works with public and partner organizations to protect our whole community when it needs us the most.

Compensation:

$80,490.00 - $102,200.00 annually.

Assessment:

An assessment may be included as a part of this recruitment process.

Hours:

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Hours will vary based on operational needs.

This position is considered essential and will be required to report to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC), as directed in advance, or in response to an emergency, and may include nights (overnights), weekends, holidays, etc.
