Please note : The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

This position will be located at the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ), Environmental Services Program (ESP) at 2710 W Main St, Jefferson City, MO. This position requires intermittent overnight stays and/or extended workdays.

This position is responsible for promoting a safety culture throughout the DEQ and the department through consulting in the areas of occupational health and safety, Workers’ Compensation loss prevention, and administration of occupational health and safety related programs. It provides safety-related training; and perform professional work in anticipating, recognizing, evaluating, and controlling safety and/or health hazards associated with specific job duties, substances, or industrial processes to ensure employees are provide safe and healthful workplaces. There is a high level of responsibility in the duties of the job that includes maintaining strict confidentiality of medical information. As a lead trainer for several health and safety courses, this position will be required to obtain and maintain the appropriate teaching certifications for such courses. If you do not currently possess these certifications, you will be given six months to obtain necessary certifications (flexibility will be allowed due to course availability and scheduling). Ability to travel, operate a motor vehicle, and maintain a valid vehicle operator’s license.

$53,928-$56,616 per Year
