Workdays & Hours: Wednesday - Saturday 12am - 8pm; This position is a first responder in severe weather conditions/emergencies which will be subject to work after hours, emergency call back hours, nights, weekends, holidays and will participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

A Water Systems Supervisor (nights) position is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department / Field Operations Division - Water Asset Management section. The Field Operations Division is a 24/7 operation and is the largest division of the Water Department and an integral function of the maintenance of the City of Fort Worth's infrastructure. This position is essential to the daily operations of the division and an integral role in the department's success. The ideal candidate/s will be responsible for Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work, responds to and resolve public inquiries and complaints; performing complex work in a variety of professional, technical and analytical safety functions in support of the assigned division/department.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma or GED.
- Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in water utility field construction, maintenance, repair, or operational activities, including lead supervisory experience.
- Possession of a TCEQ Water Class C License is required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and be on-call to respond to emergencies during off hours.
- Possession of a valid Texas driver's license.
- Must be able to pass a physical, drug screen, and a background check.
Preferred Qualifications: - Two (2) years' experience working with water utility
- Two (2) years of previous supervisory work experience.
- Extensive experience working with the public.
- Previous experience working with a large municipal utility
- Experience using GIS or other mapping software.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
Water Systems Supervisor responsibilities include: - Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
- Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of subordinate employees responsible for maintenance, repair, installation, and technical services for the wastewater collection system.
- Inspects the maintenance, installation, and repair of collection and distribution system and equipment; inspects work in progress; provides advice and assistance to maintenance staff as necessary.
- Identify organizational resource needs including the need for contractors for new construction and rehabilitation, scheduling, managing emergency events (SSO, bypass, emergency main repair/replacement, and main breaks).
- Write technical reports and conduct research utilizing GIS, Maximo, PeopleSoft, Automated Vehicle Location System, record drawings, and other related information systems.
- Monitors and evaluates the quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness of assigned field operations programs, methods, and procedures; and works with personnel on the continuous improvement of field operations services.
- Assist in establishing schedules and methods for providing construction, maintenance, and repair services; identify resource needs; review needs with management, and allocate resources accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records; and prepare daily and administrative reports pertaining to policy and procedures of Field Operations and inspect maintenance, construction, repair, and operational activities; conduct on-site changes to specifications as necessary.

- Responds to and resolve public inquiries and complaints; confers with customers regarding problems; and provides assistance as necessary.
