The Department of Public Works is responsible for delivering a wide variety of capital improvement projects that include construction and rehabilitation of essential City infrastructure, managing municipal facilities and fleet assets, and overseeing sustainable development. Position Duties

Salary range(s) for this classification is $101,621.52- $123,483.36 annually. This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

This is a temporary (Overstrength) position that is anticipated to be funded through June 30, 2026, subject to further extension as appropriate. If this position is not extended through the budget process, the city may seek to place you in other internal job opportunities based on your previous work experience.

The Public Works Department is recruiting to fill one (1) full-time Contract Compliance Specialist position. The position reports directly to the Contract Compliance Coordinator and support the Labor Compliance Division.

The Contract Compliance Specialist performs varied professional analytical and investigative duties to interpret, monitor and implement the City's Prevailing Wage and Living Wage Policies and Federal and State labor compliance regulations and standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:


Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, business administration, social/behavioral sciences, or related field.Experience: Two years of construction contract administration, project management, or labor compliance enforcement experience.
Acceptable Substitution: Experience related to construction contract administration, project management, or labor compliance enforcement may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis
License/ Certificates: Valid California Driver's License
Form 700 Requirement: This position requires a disclosure of outside investments, real property interest, income, and business positions. You must complete and file an “Assuming Office Form 700” with the City Clerk’s Office within the first 30 days of employment with the office.
