The City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation department is recruiting for seasonal positions to work with our 2026 Camp Fort Worth and Mobile Recreation summer day camp programs. We are looking for self-motivated Site Supervisors who enjoy working in an everchanging and exciting environment while encouraging kids to be confident, creative, and open to making new friends and everlasting memories! This is a unique opportunity to work with our youth in FWISD schools (you will be assigned to one campus for the duration of the summer) and inspire them to reach their full potential. The Mobile Recreation summer camp is located at 4 schools in the Fort Worth area.
- Attendance and participation at pre-season orientation is required. Orientation will be held June 1 st - June 5 th
- The Mobile Recreation summer camp operates from June 8 th - July 24 th . Camp hours are 9:00a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- Camp Staff must be comfortable and willing to get in the water for any aquatic-related activities, if needed
- The position allows a maximum of 40 hours worked per week (the Site Supervisor is a seasonal position and is not eligible for benefits).
Minimum Qualifications:
- HS Diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of experience leading children's activities for youth 5 - 12 years old in a recreational or educational environment
- Minimum six (6) months supervisory experience
- Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in a related field
- 1 year of supervisory experience in a related field
The Site Supervisor's job responsibilities include: - Supervise children during a variety of summer camp activities including recreational, cultural, and educational programs, indoor and outdoor events, aquatic activities, arts & crafts, and athletics.
- Maintain equipment inventory, materials, and supplies.
- Oversee and implement marketing to promote programs and recruit participants.
- Coordinate and/or collaborate with the school administration staff to promote parent workshops and family events.
- Assist in developing weekly lesson plans that integrate subjects such as science, math, reading, recreational games, arts & crafts, and college and career readiness activities.
- Evaluate seasonal staff assigned to your site at the end of summer camp.
- Adhere to assigned work schedules as outlined in the Department and City attendance policies and procedures; ensure all behaviors comply with the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations.
Working Conditions Physical Demands: Depending on the assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting
Medium work - Depending on the assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
