Description

The Position

The City of Riverside is accepting applications for the position of Parking Control Representative to fill multiple vacancies in the Parking Services Division of the Public Works Department. The eligibility list established may be used to fill the current and/or upcoming vacancies within this classification for up to six (6) months.

The Parking Services Division is seeking an energetic individual to independently patrol the city and work in a team environment to provide excellent customer service to all. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills while working outdoors in a fast-paced environment. The Parking Services Division is charged with promoting and maximizing parking opportunities that contribute to improving the quality of life in its residential and commercial areas citywide. The Parking Services Division operates and manages the City's parking facilities including parking enforcement, citation processing, preferential parking and installation and management of parking meters and signs.

The Parking Control Representative patrols in a motor vehicle or on foot and enforces the regulations of the California Vehicle Code and Riverside Municipal Code as it relates to parking rules and regulations.

Qualifications

Recruitment Guidelines:

Education: High School graduation or satisfactory equivalent (GED).

Experience: One (1) year of experience in customer service or related field.

Necessary Special Requirement

Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a Class C State of California driver’s license.

Physical and Mental Demands: Ability to see and hear within normal ranges; grasping and dexterity to operate hand-held computerized ticketing devices; drive, sit and walk for extended periods of time; walk on slippery/uneven surfaces; crouch, reach, bend, and twist, enter and exit motor vehicle frequently; and ability to work around moving vehicles.

Environmental Conditions: Exposure to vehicular traffic, grease/oil, fumes, dust, and the elements of working outside, such as wind, sun, and other inclement weather.
