Position Overview *This recruitment is limited to the first 75 qualified external applications and will close to the public without notice while still accepting applications from internal employees. The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Response Specialist (Part Time) in the Department of Community Development and Services. The consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under general supervision, serves as the primary contact for citizens and provides administrative support duties for the division; and performs related duties as assigned.
VACANCY INFORMATION:
• This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible position.
• This position does not qualify for employer-paid benefits, paid time off, wage increases, or union representation
• This position requires enrollment in the City's Alternate Retirement Systems (ARS)
• Work schedule will be Sundays and Mondays, from 7:00am to 5:00pm. Subject to change at the department's discretion.
• Work schedule will consist of an average of 19 hours/week. Hours per week may increase or decrease based on Department need
• May be required to work a flexible work schedule, outside of normal business hours, which may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and/or extended hours
• External candidates, probationary full-time, part-time, and temporary City of Henderson employees will start at the first step of the salary range.

Minimum Qualifications- Associate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business Management, Business Administration, or Public Administration
- Three (3) years of progressively responsible or directly related administrative experience involving direct public contact
- Note: An equivalent combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered
- Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check
- Will be required to complete Security Awareness and National Law Enforcement Telecommunications Systems (Nlets) Network/Nevada Civil and Criminal Information Systems (NCCIS) certification within six (6) months of hire/transfer and be recertified every two (2) years. Must maintain certifications as a condition of continued employment
- All required licenses and certificates, as mandated by local, state, and federal laws, or as required herein, must be obtained and maintained as a condition of continued employment and at the incumbents’ expense
- Desirable: Knowledge of International Property Maintenance Code
- Desirable: Knowledge of City of Henderson software systems

WORK WEEK - Four-day, 9.5-hour workday, 38-hour work week
