Pay Range: $28.00 - $39.06/hour, depending on experience. For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.For more details, review the full job details and requirements below.The Street Maintenance Team Supervisor assigns, reviews, and oversees the work of their assigned crew to maintain the City's infrastructure assets. They coordinate activities with internal and external agencies and perform various semi-skilled, skilled, and technical tasks related to maintenance and repair work.
Key Responsibilities- Supervises, trains and evaluates assigned technical and maintenance staff; coordinates and oversees daily tasks of assigned personnel; oversees implementation of safety procedures and regulations; implements employee development programs and activities.
- Maintains knowledge of methods and techniques of general infrastructure maintenance and repair related to the area of work assigned, including the maintenance of asset management and work order management records within the City’s Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
- Participates in, and coordinates emergency operations including after-hours, on-call, emergency response and snow removal as required.
- Responds to questions and concerns from the general public, contractors, and businesses.
QualificationsExperience: Five or more years of increasingly responsible maintenance worker experience along with basic computer skills and a demonstrated mastery of maintenance worker competencies and skills including operation of heavy equipment is required. Employees at this level are expected to possess the necessary skills and proficiency to independently carry out all procedures related to their assigned area of responsibility.
Education: A high school diploma and the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance are required. Additional relevant and increasingly responsible experience may be substituted for education.
Licenses & Certifications: A valid driver's license and favorable driving record are required. A class A 5th wheel commercial driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements is required within six months of employment. American Traffic Safety Services Association Traffic Control Supervisor Certification or equivalent is preferred at time of hire and is required within six months of hire.
Environmental or Physical Demands: Street Maintenance Team Supervisors perform their job duties outside in all types of weather and are exposed to conditions including sun, wind, rain, snow, ice, pollen, dust, fumes, and other allergens or airborne particles. They are exposed to noise from traffic and equipment. They must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of one’s arms and legs moving one’s whole body to lift, balance, walk, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl while handling or carrying materials. They operate a variety of hand and power tools, powered equipment, and commercial vehicles. They may drive or ride from site-to-site multiple times throughout the workday. Must be able to work safely in distracting situations including high volume traffic areas. This work also requires some regular sedentary work operating a computer and standard office equipment.
