The Storekeeper classification is a countywide classification and may be assigned to various departments throughout the County.

We are currently seeking to fill one (1) permanent, full-time Storekeeper position, with the current assignment in the Services Group at the Juvenile Hall Unit in Martinez, CA.

The eligible list resulting from this recruitment may remain in effect for up to six (6) months. This list may also be used to fill future vacancies in County departments utilizing this classification.

Minimum Qualifications

License Required: Possession of a valid California Motor Vehicle Operator's License. Out of state valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License will be accepted during the application process.

Experience: Two (2) years of full time, or its equivalent, experience in storekeeping that included performing duties of a stock clerk, material handler, shipper/receiver, stockroom clerk, warehouse worker, or central supply work.

Selection Process

Application Filing and Evaluation: All applicants must apply online at www.cccounty.com/hr and supplemental questionnaire at the time of application, applications will be evaluated to determine which candidates will move forward in the next phase of the recruitment process.

Online Multiple-Choice Assessment: Candidates who possess the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in an online multiple-choice assessment. The assessment will be conducted online to measure candidates' competencies as they relate to the Storekeeper classification. These may include but are not limited to: Attention to Detail, Mathematical Facility, Reading Comprehension, Writing, Decision Making and Professional Integrity & Ethics. Candidates must achieve an overall average score of 70% or higher on the examination in order to continue in the process. (Weighted 100%).

Departmental Interview: The Probation's hiring team will reach out to referred candidates to schedule department interviews.
TENTATIVE ASSESSMENT DATES

Online Multiple-Choice Test: March 13, 2026 to March 16, 2026

The assessment may be administered remotely using a computer. You will need access to a reliable internet connection to take the assessment.

The Human Resources Department may change the examination steps noted above in accordance with the Personnel Management Regulations and accepted selection practices.

CONVICTION HISTORY
After you receive a conditional job offer, you will be fingerprinted, and your fingerprints will be sent to the California Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). DISASTER SERVICE WORKER
All Contra Costa County employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law. Employment with the County requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
