The City of Houston, Human Resources Department, seeks a dynamic, self-sufficient, customer-focused, and technologically savvy Senior Human Resources Generalist. The candidate selected for this position will work collaboratively within the Human Resources, People & Client Service - Shared Services Division, supporting various City of Houston Departments as a business partner and point-of-contact to provide superior human resources services. The ideal candidate must accurately assist with initiating, tracking, and successfully uploading departmental personnel actions into the City of Houston's HROne SuccessFactors-Employee Central (EC) System. Serve as an FMLA Coordinator, provide backup for Temporary Services, as well as perform other duties essential to the unit's efficient operation as needed to meet our clients' expectations and requirements. Will also utilize SAP SuccessFactors - EC and SAP/ECC systems.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is physically comfortable; the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort in a normal office environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Social Science, Liberal Arts, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three years of related professional experience in human resources are required.

Pertinent experience at the professional level may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

PREFERENCES

The preferred candidate for the Human Resources Department must demonstrate leadership potential, be customer-focused, and possess excellent problem-solving, organizational, communication, and people skills. Strong presentation skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office as well as SAP are preferred.

**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.**
