The San Mateo County Sheriff's Activities League (SAL) is a non-profit organization that builds positive partnerships between youth, deputies and the communities through safe and affordable, purposeful programs that make a difference. The Sheriff's Activities League constantly strives to build strong, positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities we serve by providing resources to help youth in our community reach their full potential. Our vision is to build a strong continuous bond between law enforcement and youth to foster a safe and supportive environment for families within San Mateo County. As a Community Worker for the Sheriff's Activities League (SAL), you will have the opportunity to empower communities and shape a brighter future!

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following characteristics:

The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has one part-time extra help vacancy. Extra-help personnel work no more than 1040 hours per July 1st - June 30th fiscal year. The number of weekly hours may fluctuate depending upon the needs of special events and programming. SAL serves San Mateo County, as well as all unincorporated areas of San Mateo County, from Pacifica to Pescadero.

Qualifications
Education and Experience: Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. A typical way of gaining the knowledge and skills is:

Community Worker I: Equivalent to graduation from high school and experience which has provided first-hand knowledge of the problems, needs, attitudes, and behavior patterns specific to the client population served within the assigned program.

Some positions require possession of a class C California driver license or equivalent.
