Reports to : Operations Crew Chief Pump Maintenance, Electrical Supervisor

Supervises the following positions : N/A

DEFINITION
Under immediate (Pump Maintenance Technician I) to general (Pump Maintenance Technician II) supervision, performs a variety of installation, maintenance, and repair work on domestic water well and booster pumps, canal pumps, irrigation pump systems and drainage pumps, motors, mobile and stationary generators, air compressors; operates mobile cranes and other hoisting equipment; monitors and inspects equipment for reliable operating condition and performance including preventative maintenance; and performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Education : Equivalent to a High School Diploma.

Experience :
Technician I : One (1) year of experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of pumps, motors, or other equipment similar to what is found in a water or wastewater agency.
Technician II : Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience performing duties similar to a Pump Maintenance Technician I with the District or other similar agency.

Licenses and Certifications : Possession of a valid California Driver’s License to be maintained throughout employment.
Technician I I : Possession of a Grade D2 Water Distribution Operators Certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board.
