ABOUT THE POSITIONThe Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the Airport Experience & Engagement Coordinator position. This position plans, develops, and implements a wide range of airport events, art initiatives, and cultural programming that enhance the guest experience. This role manages exhibitions, performances, and activations and serves as the primary liaison between artists, organizations, and community partners. This position is responsible for overseeing project timelines and budgets, while also producing public-facing materials, visual presentations, and promotional content. Additional responsibilities include supporting outreach initiatives, facilitating interdepartmental collaboration, organizing special ceremonies, and maintaining detailed records and reporting. The position requires strong creative, organizational, and communication skills to deliver seamless events and impactful cultural experiences within the airport environment.

Note: This classification is designated exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), and is therefore, not eligible for overtime.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSEducation and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Food & Beverage Management, Marketing, Communications or a field related to the work AND two (2) years of full-time professional experience in event coordination, arts programming, community engagement or hospitality operations. Experience working with artists, performers, vendors and community organizations preferred. Professional level experience and/or education that has provided the skills and knowledge necessary to perform all job functions at this level may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application.

Licensing and Certification: Must possess a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of hire.
Working Conditions: Attend meetings and execute events and/or activations outside of normal working hours. Respond to calls on an off-hours, emergency basis.
Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.
Residency Requirement: Permanent employees must maintain a principal place of residency within the boundaries of Clark County and provide proof of compliance with Nevada motor vehicle registration and drivers' license laws within 90 days of employment.
Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Background Check: Employment with the Department of Aviation is contingent upon completion of an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted

Customs and Border Protection Security Seal Program: Employment with the Department of Aviation in this job title is contingent upon a ten year employment and five year residency history record check and the ability to present original identity based documentation in order to meet the requirements for a Security Seal.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSMobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment; mobility to drive a motor vehicle to attend meetings and reach off-site locations; stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for an extended period of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. Requires walking long distances within the airport, standing for extended periods during events, and occasional lifting (up to 25lbs) of event materials. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES- Plans, coordinates, and executes airport special events, ceremonies, seasonal programming, and experiential activations.
- Develops and executes arts and cultural programming that reflects the community, promotes local artists, and enriches the guest experience.
- Coordinates art exhibitions, live performances, cultural displays, and temporary installations in terminal spaces.
- Serves as the primary liaison with local artists, arts organizations, schools, nonprofit groups, and cultural institutions.
- Ensures all programs comply with safety, security, ADA accessibility, and airport operational requirements.
- Collaborates with airport divisions, airlines, concessions, marketing, operations, and vendors to ensure seamless event execution.
- Manages timelines, budgets, contracts, supplies, permits, and vendor coordination related to events and cultural programs.
- Supports community outreach initiatives that strengthen the airport’s relationship with local partners.
- Tracks program performance, participation metrics, and guest feedback to drive teamwork and inform continuous improvement.
- Assists with promotional efforts including digital signage, social media support, and public communications related to events and arts programming.
- Consults with in-house clients to determine client requirements for short- and long-range planning and the development of varied programs and print and media materials to inform the public and support departmental activities and functions.
- Researches information from departmental sources, including conducting interviews and reviewing files and other written documentation.
- Designs visual presentations and works with graphic specialists to produce videos, graphic displays, charts, graphs, maps, posters, photographs, camera-ready artwork and other visual materials; prepares preliminary drafts of presentations for approval.
- Prepares and coordinates the production of reports and other departmental written materials.
- Plans and coordinates special events such as musical performances, holiday activations, tours, etc.; ensures media coverage and appropriate notification to interested parties and attends to all details from provision of audio-visual equipment to food service.
- Serves as staff coordinator for scheduling appearances of and providing materials for staff presentations to various community, business and public groups.
- Schedules projects and determines the most effective way to produce finished materials; coordinates and directs the work of in-house assistants or contract specialists on a project basis.
- Maintains logs and records of work performed.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the airport service to its customers by offering suggestions and directing or participating as an active member of a work team.
- Uses standard office equipment, including a computer, in the course of the work; uses desktop publishing and graphics hardware and software and audio-visual equipment in the course of the work.
- Drives a personal or County motor vehicle to attend meetings, make presentations, visit various job sites, etc.
