ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Election Department is seeking qualified applicants to apply for the Manager Election Administration position. This position manages the operational and functionality of the registration division, oversees the planning and coordination for candidate filing, and ensures the department is in compliance with laws that affect registering to vote, candidate filing, and petitions. The incumbent will logistically coordinate with outside vendors, organizations, and departments in voter registration drives and recruitment of staff and will work closely with the Registrar and Assistant Registrar on election timelines and budget. This position requires mandatory overtime during various periods in the election cycle, which can include weekends and may be with little to no notice.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

This position is a management position and excluded from membership in the union.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Public Administration, or a field related to the work AND five (5) years full-time experience in election systems and processes, training and recruiting large quantities of staff, warehouse logistics, administrative services, or information technology, including two (2) years of supervisory/management experience. Equivalent combination of formal education and appropriate related experience may be considered.

Working Conditions:
Work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone. During election cycles, will need to occasionally lift and carry election equipment up to 25 pounds without assistance. Accommodation may be made for some of these physical demands for otherwise qualified individuals who require and request such accommodation.
