Purpose:

Under limited supervision, identifies, negotiates, and closes the acquisition of real estate for lease or purchase for the City of Austin.

Position Overview:

Austin Financial Services’ Real Estate Division is hiring for a Property Agent Senior position to support critical functions in Specialized and Capital Improvement Project Acquisitions. This role will be responsible for negotiating real property acquisitions on behalf of the City of Austin for various capital improvement projects. This is a dynamic and continually evolving area within the Real Estate Division. Top candidates will demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Note: Employees of AFS-Real Estate Services are prohibited from ownership of a business related to real estate and from conducting work related to real estate, as this presents a conflict of interest for employment with the City of Austin.

Pay Range:

$60,030.00 - $74,140.00

Hours:

Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Telework opportunities may be available after an initial training period. Work schedules are implemented to meet the requirements of the department and are subject to change based on business needs.

Staff eligible to telework must be in the office for at least 40% of their scheduled work week.

If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
