Job Summary About the Position: We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and analytical professional to join our team as a Crime Scene Analyst. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong observational skills, integrity, and the ability to remain composed while working in sensitive and sometimes challenging environments.
As a key member of the investigative team, you will collaborate with law enforcement personnel, forensic specialists, and legal professionals to ensure evidence is handled according to established protocols and standards. Your work will play a critical role in reconstructing events, supporting case development, and contributing to the pursuit of justice.
This position requires travel and includes public speaking and engagement with the community. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities and occasional work on weekends and holidays.

Sheriff Schuster has been hard at work on a 10 Year Strategic Plan for the development and future of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. Sheriff Schuster presented the 10 Year Strategic Plan to the Mohave County Board of Supervisors Budget Workshop meeting on May 17, 2019. Sheriff Schuster is hopeful that we have the support we need and will see the requested budget increase adopted this August. As always, Sheriff Schuster continues to fight for the citizens and his staff to ensure the safety and security of our communities and the ability to provide top-notch law enforcement and public safety services.

Essential Job FunctionsRespond to crime scenes, photographing scenes, collecting evidence, processing latent fingerprints, document work product in an accurate manner for court proceedings.
SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS - Assist Evidence Custodian in releasing and booking in evidence, training other employees regarding crime scene evidence collection, testifying in court regarding job functions.
- Exercise regular and predictable attendance and punctuality in accordance with Mohave County Personnel Policies and Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications- Possession of a Bachelor's Degree (or 120 college credits) from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 20 college level credits in biology, chemistry, forensic technology, forensic science, criminal science, physical anthropology or physical science
- OR 5 years' experience working as a forensic analyst or crime scene technician, or certified law enforcement officer.
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENT - Must pass drug screen post offer.
- Must possess a valid driver's license for operation of motor vehicles on Arizona roads at the start of employment and maintain said license while employed in this position.
- Provide acceptable driving history at no cost to the County.
- Pass a background check and polygraph examination.
- Be on call based on operational needs.
- Work a variety of shifts, days off, weekends or holidays as determined by operational needs.

- Learn statutes related to crime scene investigations, fingerprinting and photography;
- Work in the absence of supervision;
- Make independent decisions and apply logical reasoning;
- Prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports in a timely manner;
- Communicate clearly and concisely while demonstrating professionalism;
- Maintain effective working relationships with victims, suspects, and law enforcement personnel;
- Deal with uncooperative and hostile suspects, witnesses and victims.

$48,380.80 - $57,782.40 Annually
