Program Coordinator III (Literacy) - School Superintendent (Prescott)
Description
RoleThis position is 30 hours per week. Under minimal supervision, leads county-wide efforts to improve literacy instruction across all school districts by providing expert guidance, professional development, and collaborative support to administrators and educators.
Major Duties, Responsibilities- Provides leadership as well as works in fulfilling federal and state deliverables with specific duties and responsibilities dictated by program directives.
- Assesses literacy needs and challenges of schools through surveys, classroom observations, and collaborative discussions to support and develop effective literacy systems.
- Provides ongoing support for literacy programs and the delivery of professional development for educators in structured literacy methodologies and implementation.
- Assists districts with curriculum adoption to ensure integration with structured literacy elements.
- Provides instructional coaching, modeling, and demonstration as needed to enhance program initiatives.
- Collaborates with schools to create actionable plans based on student data and uses evidenced-based practices to identify areas of improvement.

Minimum QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, Literacy, or related field.
Experience: A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a literacy coach, reading specialist, instructional leader or closely related field.
An equivalent combination of directly related work experience and education may substitute for the degree requirement of year-per-year basis.
Additional Requirements:Must possess a valid Arizona driver’s license.
Must possess fingerprint clearance card.

- Current Microsoft Office software.
Skill in:- Public speaking and presentation.

Ability to:- Function effectively and autonomously within established guidelines while exercising good judgment in making decisions which impact the department.
- Make sound and reasonable decisions in accordance with established departmental and county policies and procedures.
- Develop, design, and deliver training to meet objectives and county school expectations.
- Keep management informed of key operating issues affecting the department.
- Remain current in knowledge required to perform assigned duties.
- Handle confidential matters and maintain discretion.
- Act with courtesy, tact, and diplomacy.
Work Environment:The work environment is associated with an office. The work area is adequately lighted, heated or cooled and ventilated.
Physical Requirements:Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effective in-person and telephonically. Capable of frequent repetitive movement of arms, fingers, and wrists. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
