Contract Specialist to fill a key role in the Human Services department, ensuring efficient coordination, execution, and management of contracts and agreements. As the
Contract Specialist, you will:
- Coordinate and manage the execution of all Human Services contracts, grants, agreements, and modifications/amendments. This includes tracking and coordinating changes, submitting documents through eContracts, sending out vendor signature requests, following up on signatures, and preparing final documents for signature by the appropriate approval authorities.
- Update and maintain the department's contract webpage and assist with updating the Human Services webpages to align with Kitsap County policy and accessibility standards.
- Provide essential office support through coordination of mail pick-up and delivery, acting as a backup resource as needed.
What you bring:Professional Experience:
- 2 years of progressively responsible administrative support experience in contracts administration, grant administration, procurement support, document management, or related. Related education demonstrating required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job may substitute for up to six months of experience.
Technical/Industry Background:
- Experience working with contract management systems or similar tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint) with intermediate to advanced expertise, particularly in Excel and spreadsheet management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Communication/Interpersonal Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely contract processing.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years progressively responsible administrative support experience in contracts administration, grant administration, procurement support, document management, or related.
- Experience with web management and updating web content to meet accessibility standards.
- Knowledge of government contract processes, including routing, tracking, and submission for approval.
- Familiarity with county policies and public sector compliance.
- Experience in providing customer service to subcontractors

Retirement:Employees are covered under the PERS retirement plan provided through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems and Social Security.
Deferred Compensation (IRS Plan 457b): tax-deferred savings program
Holidays11 paid holidays and 2 additional floating holiday per year. One additional floating holiday after 10 years of service.
Vacation Leave New employees are credited with 48 hours of annual leave upon hire and will be begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Employees may carry over 360 hours from one calendar year to the next. Annual leave accrual will increase upon tenure, as follows:
Upon completion of 2 years: 15 days per year (10.00 hours per month)
Upon completion of 5 years: 20 days per year (13.33 hours per month)
Upon completion of 10 years: 25 days per year (16.67 hours per month)
Sick LeaveAll new hires will be credited with 48 hours of sick leave upon hire and will begin accruing at the rate of 8 hours per month starting on their 7th month of employment. Employees may carry over 1200 hours from one calendar year to the next.
